My name is Austin Galt. While I am originally from Sydney, Australia I now reside in Medellin, Colombia. Several years ago I worked as a licensed advisor with a well known Australian stock broker while I have studied charts for over 20 years. My aim here is to provide my view of technical analysis that is both intriguing and misunderstood by many. I like to refer to it as the black magic of stock market analysis.
The Voodoo Analyst is not your typical technical analysis based market website. I am not a Gann expert, Fibonacci expert, Elliott Wave expert, or cycles expert and I don't use the same indicators on every chart. I apply various indicators and theories depending on what I find relevant to each situation. Articles are written in an unorthodox and unique style that is easy and enjoyable to read while also providing informative and comprehensive analysis of the technicals as I see them.
I view technical analysis as more of an art than a science. I view each chart as a picture of human behaviour knowing that humans continually repeat their behaviour. And just as the majority of traders get it wrong, so too do most chartists and hence I try to determine what the contrarian position is or will be.
Apart from helping me to focus on my own trades, it keeps me occupied and interested in the markets as I am not a day trader. I also feel I have something to offer and am happy to share my knowledge with those who can appreciate its value. The website combines two of my passions being technical analysis and writing. When it begins to feel too much like work is probably the day that I will give it up.
The Voodoo Analyst monthly newsletter.
The Voodoo Analyst monthly newsletter is US$20 per month for 12 issues (US$240) or US$30 per month for 3 issues (US$90). Payment is made in US dollars.
The Voodoo Analyst monthly newsletter will generally be at least 20 pages in length and cover at least 5 different financial instruments. This will be a mixture of indices, commodities, currencies and/or bonds. The Dow and gold will always be analysed in each newsletter. Also, while not promised, there will be occasional updates and subscriber-only analysis when I deem appropriate.

The number of financial instruments included will depend on how much analysis is done on each and what I feel is relevant.

An email will be sent to members as soon as it has been published on the website.
No. I am not a licensed advisor and therefore can make no recommendations. The articles are based on my opinion only of the technicals. Please read the disclaimer.
This is a hypothetical macro long/short portfolio covering indices, commodities, currencies and bonds and is based on the analysis. These are not recommendations. It is for educational purposes only. The portfolio commenced in September 2015 and is only accessible for subscribers of the monthly newsletter.
Yes, plenty but I prefer to let my work do the talking. All articles are kept on the website so my record is there on public display.
There are no refunds. There are plenty of articles available in Archives as an example of the product that can be expected in helping to determine whether or not this service is right for you.
I use and highly recommend Market Analyst.
The letters refer to what time frame charts are contained in the article. D for daily, W for weekly, M for monthly, Q for quarterly and Y for yearly.
Never to be long on a break to new lows or short on a break to new highs regardless of whether or not I am expecting a false break only. I prefer to let price make a new high or low and then look for signs of a reversal.
